Woodburn Riverside Park

Woodburn Riverside Park runs along River Street with the Richmond River right beside the path. It makes an easy on-lead stroll for a break in town, with boats and passing watercraft to watch.

Leads and the off-lead area

Richmond Valley Council requires dogs to stay on a lead here, as the park is not an off-leash zone. If your dog needs a run, the town's designated off-leash area is at the pony club grounds next to Woodburn oval.

The walk

Paved paths and grassy stretches follow the river past picnic areas and the boat ramps. Shade is patchy, with a few mature trees and some covered picnic furniture, so the open sections get full sun.

Bins are provided around the park. Dog bubblers are limited, so carry water and a bowl.

Little Stray Winds Cafe is the nearby coffee stop, and street parking sits right alongside the park on River Street.

Early mornings and late afternoons suit it best in summer, when the open grass heats up. It is ideal for dogs that like watching the river traffic from the end of a lead.
