Spinnaker Park

Harbour views, wetlands and passing ships make Spinnaker Park Gladstone's showpiece waterfront walk. It sits beside the Gladstone Marina, is run by Gladstone Ports Corporation rather than the council, and dogs must stay on a lead at all times.

The walk

About 2.5 kilometres of flat paved track and concrete boardwalk run along the ocean wall, past native wetlands, ponds and small sandy coves. The surface suits prams, wheelchairs and older dogs alike.

Lead rules

This is an on-lead park, not an off-lead area, and dogs are kept out of the playground zones. Bins and waste bag stations are placed through the parklands.

Water and shade

Sheltered seats, picnic shelters and landscaped trees line parts of the path, but the coastal stretches are exposed. Bring water and a bowl for the dog.

Car parks sit close to the park entrance.

Make a day of it

Finish with a coffee at The Cotton Mill Gladstone or a juice from Glo Juice.

When to go

Early morning or late afternoon beats the midday sun on the open sections of the sea wall. Dogs that like to watch the world go by will enjoy the wide lawns and harbour traffic.
