Nannup River Walk

The Nannup River Walk tracks the Blackwood River along the edge of town, and near Foreshore Park your dog can come off the lead. Along the rest of the trail, dogs stay leashed.

Leads and the off-lead area

The Shire of Nannup allows dogs on a lead along the general trail and townsite. The designated off-leash space is the open grass near Foreshore Park, off Brockman Street, beside the river.

The walk

The route is a formed track marked with posts, mixing natural ground, gravel and compacted sections along the foreshore. It is also mapped as the Blackwood River Walk and Canoe Trail.

Expect river views, native bush, the old railway bridge, plenty of birdlife and wildflowers in season. Mature trees shade the riverbank.

Pepsi: The Blackwood is right there for a paddle, but pack fresh drinking water for after.

Getting started

Park near Foreshore Park off Brockman Street. The park has toilets, barbecues, picnic shelters, a playground and bins, so it makes an easy base.

When to go

Shade and river access make this a pleasant warm-day walk. Start at Foreshore Park if your dog needs a run before settling into the on-lead section.
