The Maffra Recreation Reserve walking track is a plain, flat circuit around the town's sporting ovals off the Maffra-Newry Road. Dogs are welcome, on a lead at all times.
The walk
The route follows grassed edges and gravel and earth tracks past the ovals and club pavilions. Clear sightlines and wide open ground make it an easy leashed stroll.
Mature trees along the outer edges give partial shade, and bins sit near the main pavilion. Parking is right at the reserve.
Max: Match days change the mood here. Walk the perimeter when the ovals are quiet.

Finish with something from The Food Store in town.
When to go
Weekdays and outside organised sport, when it is at its quietest. Carry water in the warmer months.
