Golden Bay Foreshore Walk

Golden Bay's foreshore walk follows a coastal path through the dunes toward Singleton, with a 24/7 off-leash beach close at hand. Dogs stay on lead on the path itself.

Leads and the off-leash beach

The City of Rockingham requires dogs on lead along the coastal path. The designated off-leash area is the 500-metre stretch of Golden Bay Beach south of Crystaluna Drive, open around the clock for dogs under effective control.

The walk

The dual-use path is paved and hard limestone, winding through dunes and native coastal plants with glimpses of the Indian Ocean. It carries on toward Singleton as a longer coast walk, still on lead.

Getting started

Park at the Golden Bay Foreshore precinct off Marillana Drive. Toilets, shelters, seating and grass are close by, and bins sit near the beach entries around Crystaluna Drive.

Shade on the open path and sand is limited, and water along the route varies, so carry a bottle and bowl.

Pepsi: Walk the dunes on lead first, then head for the sand south of Crystaluna Drive for a splash in the shallows.
