Ebden Reserve

Ebden Reserve sits on the Lake Hume foreshore off the Murray Valley Highway, with the High Country Rail Trail passing through and wide views across the water to the hills. There is no separately named track here, so the walking is the reserve and the rail trail.

Lead rules

Wodonga City Council lists Ebden Reserve as an off-lead area, so dogs can come off the lead in the reserve.

The walk

The rail trail section through the reserve is compacted gravel with some sealed shared path. Parts of it run exposed, while trees around the day-use area give patches of shade.

In warmer months dogs can splash in the shallows along the foreshore. Dog water taps are unconfirmed, so bring drinking water and a bowl.

Pepsi: The Lake Hume shallows are made for a summer paddle. Pack a towel for the drive home.

Getting started

Day-use parking, including accessible spaces, is beside the reserve off the highway. Bins are in the day-use area.

It is far quieter than the parks in Wodonga, which suits dogs that like a calm outing. Summer mornings give the best of the water before the heat builds.
