Caulfield Park Short Walks

Glen Eira City Council's Caulfield Park Short Walks loop past a lake, native gardens and a war memorial in Caulfield North, just above Caulfield South. The walks themselves are on lead, but the park's central ovals are off-lead ground.

Leads and the off-lead area

Keep dogs on lead on the short walks around the western lake and picnic area. The central sporting ovals are designated off-lead zones, with restrictions near playgrounds and barbecues.

The walk

Paths are compacted gravel. Along the way you pass the Caulfield Park War Memorial, native gardens, historic trees and short bridges over the lake, where ducks and geese gather.

Water taps and dog bowls are in designated parts of the park, and bins line the main paths. Mature trees ring several ovals and paths, though the central fields are open.

Park on the street around the perimeter, including Park Crescent.

Max: Ducks and geese gather at the lake bridges. Keep the lead short there and save the running for the ovals.

When to go

The gravel is gentle underfoot, which suits older dogs. In summer, stick to the tree-lined paths rather than the open fields.
