Pet policy
On lead at all times, with no off-lead area in the park. Keep leads short around the gardens and playground (City of Greater Bendigo).
Rosalind Park sits on the edge of central Bendigo, a heritage park with a creek, a fernery and big old trees. Dogs are welcome, on lead at all times.
The walk
A loop of about 30 minutes runs from Pall Mall through the fernery, past the playground and up towards the Poppet Head lookout. Most paths are wide, flat and sealed, with a few steeper gravel and dirt tracks higher up.
Ornate footbridges cross the creek, and grey-headed flying foxes roost in the trees.
Leads and facilities
The City of Greater Bendigo has no off-lead area in the park. Keep leads short around the gardens and the busy playground.
Water fountains are near the playground, and bag dispensers sit at entries such as Pall Mall and View Street.
Max: Give the flying fox colony a wide berth. A curious dog and a roost do not mix.
Make a day of it
Settle in afterwards at The Cambrian Hotel or Fox & Giraffe.
The canopy makes it one of the cooler walks in town on hot days. Parking on Barnard Street, Park Road and the View Street car park fills quickly on weekends and market days.
