Tungamah Hotel

The Tungamah Hotel is a classic country pub on the corner of Barr and Middleton Streets in the centre of Tungamah, in Victoria's north-east. It is a proper old Aussie hotel, with tidy rooms, new bathrooms, a kitchen turning out schnitzels, pizzas and generous chip servings, a kids menu, and a large beer garden out the back. Tungamah is also a stop on the North East Victoria silo art trail, with the murals a short walk or drive away.

Dogs at the Tungamah Hotel

The confirmed part is the beer garden: the pub's own posts welcome dogs in the outdoor areas out the back, and it is a comfortable spot to eat with your dog at your feet. The overnight picture is less certain. The pet-friendly reputation of the rooms comes from word of mouth rather than a published policy, and one third-party reading of the pub's posts puts dogs outdoors only. Worth knowing

Street parking is available directly outside on Barr Street and the entrance is wheelchair-accessible. The Tungamah Lions and RV Park is a five-minute walk away and offers a quiet creekside route for walking your dog, and the silo murals are outdoors, so both are easy to do with a dog on a lead.
