Shoalhaven Heads Village

Shoalhaven Heads Village is a BIG4 holiday park close to Seven Mile Beach with cabins, powered caravan and camp sites, and it goes a step further than the usual pet-friendly cabin: the park runs a dedicated pet spa cabin among its accommodation. Reviews also single out spacious, clean cabins with big kitchens and large showers, which helps when a sandy dog is part of the booking.

Dogs at the village

Pets are welcome in designated pet-friendly cabins, including the pet spa cabin, and on campsites and powered caravan sites. The published rules are specific: generally one pet per booking unless you have arranged more with management, dogs never left unattended, and a secure leash outside the cabin. Walk dogs along the designated park roadways only, and keep them clear of the pool, playgrounds and lagoon areas. There is no universal size limit, but management expects dogs to be registered with the local council and well behaved; excessive barking can end the stay without refund. Confirm any pet fee for your chosen cabin when booking.

Max: the pet spa cabin is the reason to book here, but it is one cabin. Lock it in early and confirm it is the pet one before you pay.

The beach and the reserve

The beach off-leash zone starts about 200 metres north of the surf club at the eastern end of McIntosh Street and runs roughly 200 metres up Seven Mile Beach, off lead around the clock with dogs under effective control. Two rules matter: the sand spit at the Shoalhaven River entrance is strictly prohibited for dogs because of shorebird nesting, and everywhere else on Seven Mile Beach is on lead or prohibited. The fenced off-leash oval at Jerry Bailey Reserve is open 24 hours when sport is not on.
