Leonard T Green Fenced Dog Park

Leonard T Green Fenced Dog Park sits within the Olive Street Reserve at 19 Olive Street, Tarcoola Beach, a coastal suburb a short drive from Geraldton's centre on Western Australia's mid-west coast. It is a dedicated, fully fenced off-lead area covering over 1000 square metres of grass, and its defining feature is the layout: two separate enclosed play pens that let you match your dog's size, energy and social comfort to the right space.

The dog setup

The whole fenced area is a designated off-lead exercise zone, secured with double-gated entry so dogs cannot slip out while people come and go. Dogs should stay under voice or hand control at all times, and any dog showing aggressive behaviour should be leashed and removed straight away. Waste must be picked up, with bags and bins provided on site. It is open around the clock and free to enter.

What's there

Open grass runs across both pens, a drinking station with dog bowls, seating and an undercover picnic bench for owners, and a sealed footpath around the boundary that works for on-lead laps or a warm-up. The beach and coastal paths at Tarcoola Beach are an easy walk away for an on-lead leg-stretch before or after.

Worth knowing

Two pens mean a small or shy dog can be kept away from rougher play, which is not always possible at single-run parks. If your dog is not recalling reliably, the off-lead status does not shift your responsibility to manage them, so start in the quieter pen.

Getting there and parking

The park occupies the centre of the Olive Street Reserve in Tarcoola Beach, easily reached from the main road through the suburb, with free off-road parking adjacent. Local buses service Tarcoola Beach, but driving is the practical option for most visitors.

Close by with the dogs

For a post-park coffee, Remi French Cafe in Geraldton is a solid stop, and The Murchison Tavern works for a pub lunch. If you are staying over, Geraldton Caravan Park takes dogs.
