Doppio Zero

Doppio Zero is a small Italian pasta shop and cafe at 453 Varley Street, Yorkeys Knob, about 20 minutes north of Cairns. Dogs are welcome at the outdoor tables while you work through fresh handmade pasta and a Di Lorenzo organic coffee, and it doubles as an easy mid-walk stop with takeaway pasta and grab-and-go coffee.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome in the outdoor seating area, and local diners report well-behaved dogs being accommodated at indoor tables near the door as well. There is no advertised dog menu or water station, so bring your own bowl. The outdoor area is compact when it gets busy, which suits calm cafe dogs more than restless ones.

The vibe

The pasta is made fresh daily and the reviews centre on exactly that, plus the coffee. Best as a morning coffee-and-pasta pickup or a casual outdoor lunch after a beach walk. One honest caveat before you plan a trip around it: reports through late 2025 suggested the venue had paused regular service for a stretch, so check their socials or call ahead before making a special journey.

Getting there

It sits on Varley Street, the main road through Yorkeys Knob, with free parking on site.

Pair it with

Memories Cafe @ Yorkeys Knob is in the shopping strip a short stroll away, and Yorkeys Knob Beach is minutes off for a leashed walk. This is crocodile country, though, so keep dogs well back from the water's edge and creek mouths. If you are staying over, Villa Marine takes dogs by arrangement.
