Scryumtious Nutrition on Victory Parade is a small shake and tea bar in Toronto with a credential most cafes cannot match: it makes its own dog ice cream. If your walk along the Lake Macquarie foreshore needs a halfway reward for both ends of the lead, this is it.

The dog setup

It is a takeaway-focused shop, so the action is at the footpath seating out front, which suits a dog fine with lake views included. The owners are known locally as dog people and water is generally on hand, though bringing your own bowl never hurts. Warm afternoons and weekend mornings are the busy stretches, so an early stop gets you the front table.

Worth knowing

The dog ice cream has appeared in flavours like strawberry peanut, blueberry coconut and pumpkin spice, and the line-up rotates, so check their socials before promising the dog anything. For humans it is protein shakes, iced coffees, teas and acai bowls. Hours run weekday mornings to 2pm, Saturdays to midday, closed Sundays, and shift with the season.

Getting there

Victory Parade runs along the Toronto foreshore, close to the public wharf. Street parking is easy out front and on the surrounding streets, and the foreshore footpath makes it walkable from most of town.

Close by with the dogs

The foreshore walk is directly opposite, and Tinto Espresso Bar and Infuzion Cafe sits at the Foreshore Reserve if the humans want a proper breakfast. Doubletake Cafe also takes dogs on its terrace nearby.
