Fresh Cafe Osborne Park

Fresh Cafe works the weekday breakfast crowd at Shop 1/32 Hector Street West, in the Osborne Park industrial pocket. It is a proper local counter rather than a destination cafe: coffee, breakfast wraps, bagels and homemade sausage rolls for tradies and office workers, with outdoor seating where dogs are welcome. Hours run 6am to 2pm Monday to Friday, closed weekends except the occasional community coffee meet.

The dog setup

Dogs sit with you at the outdoor tables, which are ground level and easy to manage on a lead while you order at the counter. Water bowls are typically on hand, though on a busy morning it is worth carrying your own bowl to be sure. The strip is foot traffic and forklift territory rather than a leafy courtyard, so it suits a calm dog that settles near a table.

The vibe

The kitchen is a step above the standard industrial-area lunch bar. Breakfast tacos, bacon and egg roll and coffee combos, fresh sandwiches, bagels and salads make up the board, with gluten-free, vegan and dairy-free options regularly available. The coffee is the reliable part of the order, and the team also runs catering out of the same kitchen.

Getting there and parking

Hector Street West connects off Scarborough Beach Road, and street parking is generally available along the front. Being an industrial strip, mornings are easier than the 11.30am lunch rush both for parking and for a quiet table with your dog.

Close by with the dogs

Robinson Reserve on the Tuart Hill border allows off-lead exercise outside organised sport, and Herdsman Lake has an on-lead shared path loop if you want a longer leg-stretch before coffee. Fenced, dedicated space is covered by Waggle Tails in the same suburb, and The Coffee Cabinet is another dog-friendly cafe option nearby.

Pepsi: Weekdays only, so time it for a walk-day coffee. The outdoor tables are close enough to the counter that I never lose sight of my person.
